Using Feed the user simply scans the barcode of a food item and Feed returns recipes based on the item scanned the user can then add these items to the in-app shopping list and locate them within the shop that Feed knows you are in via geolocation, and can tell you if the shop supplies the item. The recipe that the user selects is also saved to their recipes page. The app is targeted at 18-35 year olds, who will want to use the app as finding recipes without a starting point is both a struggle and tiresome.
I took inspiration for the feed app logo from 1950s diner logos. Focussing mainly on the soft, handwritten aspect to give the app a friendly, welcoming and “handmade food” feel.
The User Interface of Feed was designed with a simple, minimal feel form the start. To keep the main focus on the apps functionality, like the barcode scanner.
